How do I power on C1?
In powered-off state, press and hold the Multi-Function Button for 3 seconds. The white LED lights up to indicate power-on and remains solid for 5 seconds.
- Connect the included USB-C cable and charge to 100% before your first session.
- The LED glows solid red while charging. When charging ends and C1 is idle, the status LED turns off.
- A full charge takes about 2 hours.
How do I install the desktop app?
The desktop app guides you through the rest of the activation. Download and install it on your Mac or Windows computer:
- macOS 12+ (Apple Silicon or Intel) or Windows 10/11 (64-bit).
- The desktop app requires Bluetooth permission to discover and pair with your C1 device.
How do I pair and activate C1?
Once the desktop app is installed, it walks you through a three-step activation checklist:
Connect Context Device
First, make sure your computer's Bluetooth is enabled.
Then, put your C1 into pairing mode: while powered on, press and hold the Multi-Function Button for 3 seconds. Release after the white LED lights up; the white LED flashes for 60 seconds to indicate pairing mode.
Finally, click "Search for C1 Device" in the app.
The app scans for nearby C1 devices over Bluetooth. Once found, it connects and establishes a secure binding. If your device has a 6-digit binding passcode, enter it when prompted.
Deploy the local ASR engine
Local ASR model runs on the paired desktop app; no internet is needed after the initial download.
- Choose your transcription language: Auto-Detect, Chinese, or English.
- Click "Deploy Transcription Engine". The download is typically 100–500 MB depending on the model.
- Wait for the progress bar to reach 100%. The app shows real-time download logs and the deployment percentage.
- The transcription model runs locally on your computer.
- OneMira transcription runs locally. Data sent later to a third-party AI client follows that client’s configuration and terms.
- After the model download completes, local transcription does not require a cloud subscription or network connection.
Inject MCP Service Config
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how your AI tools access local context from the physical world. Compatible AI agents can use selected local context through the documented files, CLI, and MCP workflow.
- The app automatically scans your computer for supported AI tools.
- Follow the app's AI access flow to write the MCP configuration into each detected tool.
- Go to Settings → MCP in the desktop app.
- Copy the MCP JSON snippet.
- Paste the snippet into your AI tool's configuration file manually.
Device Binding Passcode
After activation completes, the app offers to set a 6-digit binding passcode on your device.
This passcode is only required when pairing the C1 with a new computer — it prevents unauthorized pairing or access.
You can skip this step during initial setup and configure it later from Settings → Device → Security in the desktop app.
Device Power Off
While powered on, press and hold the Multi-Function Button. The white LED lights up at 3 seconds; continue holding until 8 seconds to power off without entering pairing mode upon release.
Once powered off, briefly clicking the button has no response (the device must be powered on again via a 3-second long press).
You’re All Set
Your C1 is now activated and ready. Here’s what happens next:
- The turntable slowly rotates when recording is active — a calm, visible cue to everyone in the room.
- Audio slices are encrypted on the device and transferred to your computer for local transcription. Each slice is deleted after consumption.
- Transcription results are saved as local Markdown files — accessible by your AI tools via MCP.
