OneMira C1 FAQ: Compatibility, Setup, Privacy, and Shipping

OneMira C1 FAQ

Practical answers for buyers deciding whether OneMira C1 will fit their current AI workflow, computer setup, privacy expectations, and desk environment.

Which AI tools does OneMira C1 work with?

OneMira C1 works with Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Gemini, Gemini CLI, VS Code AI workflows, Zed AI, Continue, Cline, Roo Code, Aider, Goose, LM Studio, Ollama, and other MCP-compatible or local-file/CLI-based AI tools. The handoff method depends on the tool: MCP where available; otherwise local files, CLI, copy, or attach.

What do I need before C1 is useful?

You need a supported Mac or Windows computer, the OneMira desktop app, Bluetooth, enough local storage for the transcription model, and at least one AI tool that can use local files or MCP.

How do I use C1 after it arrives?

Install the OneMira desktop app, pair C1 over Bluetooth, initialize the local transcription model, then choose button capture, Auto-Capture on Launch, or scheduled work-hour capture. The full flow is documented in the Setup Guide.

What if I buy it and cannot get it working?

Start with the Setup Guide, then contact dtc@onemira.com if pairing, local model setup, or AI tool connection does not work. We help with setup issues, and the 30-day return window and 1-year limited warranty still apply.

Does C1 require OneMira cloud or a subscription?

No. The core workflow uses Bluetooth sync, local desktop processing, local Context, CLI, and MCP. There is no required OneMira cloud workspace and no required subscription for the core workflow. If you choose to send Context to a third-party AI tool, that tool's own terms apply.

What exactly does C1 capture?

C1 captures real-world discussion: desk-side decisions, requirement boundaries, customer calls, whiteboard reasoning, open questions, and the reasons behind choices. The recording is temporary input; the useful output is local Context your AI tools can continue from.

What is the relationship between the motor and capture?

The rotating turntable is a visible capture-state indicator. When C1 is actively collecting context, the movement makes that state obvious in the room. It is not a microphone, speech meter, transcription progress bar, or audio quality indicator.

How fast does the motor rotate?

The motor is tuned for a slow, visible, low-distraction rotation. Its speed is meant to show active capture without turning the device into a screen or a noisy desk object. Firmware may refine the exact motion behavior over time.

Does scheduled capture record everything around me?

VAD means Voice Activity Detection. During scheduled or ambient capture windows, VAD filters silence, keyboard sound, and invalid ambient noise so useful speech can become Context.

Can C1 capture if my computer is not nearby?

Yes. C1 has a 32 GB local session buffer for encrypted chunks when the paired computer is unavailable. When the computer reconnects, transfer resumes and local processing continues.

What happens to the original audio?

Audio is temporary source material for local processing. C1 can keep encrypted chunks while transfer or processing is pending; after local processing reaches a terminal state, cached chunks enter cleanup. The durable artifact is local Context, not a long-term audio archive.

Which computers are supported?

The OneMira desktop app supports macOS 12 or later on Apple Silicon or Intel, plus Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit. The same local Context workflow is available on both platforms.

What is in the box?

The box includes OneMira C1, a USB-C cable for charging and setup, and a quick start card that points you to the setup guide.

Where do you ship?

OneMira currently ships to addresses within the United States for the first launch.

What warranty is included?

OneMira C1 includes a 1-year limited warranty against manufacturing defects from the date of delivery.

What if I decide C1 is not for me?

You may return OneMira products within 30 days of delivery for any reason if they are in good, functional condition with all original packaging, cables, accessories, and documentation included. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, unless the product arrived damaged or defective.
